The following tutorial will guide you through the steps required to create a marketing e-blast in Sailthru.
Here’s what you will need before you begin:
– Access to the appropriate property/site in Sailthru. If you do not have access, please submit a request to Goldsupport@interactiveone.com. Turnaround time should be less than 24 hours.
– An image for your e-blast. Height is variable, width should be 600px
– Final text and destination urls for your e-blast.
Here are the 5 steps to follow to create your E-Blast newsletter:
Upload your image into your site’s WordPress Media Library. Keep the url of the location of the image – you will need this later.

2. Log in to Sailthru
You will default to the Analytics screen. You will only need to be in two sections of Sailthru for your send process: Communications and Content.
3. Add content to your newsletter
Click on Content > Includes, then click on the pulldown in the Includes area. You want to get to the Include called “eblast1.”)
Update the lines in the eblast1 include as required for your send. An example with instructions has been provided below and within the include. The example below has spacing in it to make it easier to read, the actual include will not have bolding or spacing, but the instructions/hints will be there.
Now Save your Include changes via the Save button:
4. Create your newsletter
Now click on Communications > Campaigns
This is where you create the actual Newsletter (called “Campaigns” in Sailthru) that you are going to send. Click Create New
Give your E-blast a name by clicking and editing the campaign name towards the top. Make sure Email and Regular Campaign is selected.
Choose the Subscriber list you want to send to.
Click the box for “Build your campaign from a template” and select your Eblast template you just updated.
Then for Template mode, Dynamic means that it will send as it. Static allows you to make changes to the HTML and editing the template.
Here is a side-by-side preview of the code if you want to make any changes. Here you can make any additional changes to the HTML to adjust the template.
After you Save and Continue you sending immediately with “Upon Confirmation” or assign a “Specific Time”. Here you can also add Personalized Send Time (PST) to further improve the amount of opens your Eblast can get based on user profiles. We usually recommend added 3-4 hours of PST for best optimization. Exa- Newsletter set to 10am with a 2hour PST means it will send to users between 10am-12pm based on their personal open rates.
And the final step is to review all changes and configurations you made in the campaign editor. Once you are happy with the result click Schedule.
