Here is a quick tutorial on how to alternatively display the nav on TVOne using HTML.

Normally when building a show page via custom layouts we would use the “iOne Show Links” widget to show the red nav.

However if the widget displays incorrectly we can use HTML to trick the display to show whatever we like.

In this case we will be using the “iOne Unstyled Text Widget” and the following code:

[code language=”html”]

<div id="ione-shows_links-4" class="widgetcontainer ">

<div class="ione-widget-container ione-widget-shows_links">

<div class="shownav show_nav">

<div id="subnav" class="show_topnav show_topnav_bgcolor">

<div class="show_title">SHOW NAME AND SCHEDULED TIME</div>

<div class="show_children">

<ul>

<li>

<a href="INSIDE THE SHOW PAGE URL">Inside The Show</a>

</li>

<li>

<a href="VIDEO PAGE URL">Video</a>

</li>

</ul>

</div></div></div></div></div>

[/code]

In most cases Inside The Show and Video subcategories are made by default for all show pages. Simply remove the text in capital letters and paste the category URL of each appropriate page.

Here what it would look like in the custom layout:Screen Shot 2015-11-10 at 11.05.41 AM

If you want to add a new subcategory to the nav. Simply copy and paste one section of the code from <li> to </li> as seen below:

[code language=”html”]

<li>

<a href="http://tvone.tv/category/shows/rickey-smiley-for-real/video-rickey-smiley-for-real/">Video</a&gt;

</li>

[/code]

Make sure that you paste the new section between the <ul> </ul> code.

Always Save the widget before updating the custom layout. Note that it may take a few minutes for cache to render and display the changes you’ve made.
